Our Thought Provoking Insights

A Thought Provoking Culture

In simple terms, a consultancy offers insightful expert advice or opinion on a particular subject. Good consultants can help fix and improve particular components of a client’s business. They should also be able to make thoughtful recommendations and excel at problem-solving in order to help businesses attain, and exceed, goals and plan for the future.

When TPC Co-Founders Keith Taylor and Sabir Gupta had a consultancy in mind it did not only come out of an extensive background in retail systems and processes but out of a need to provide something more. They did not want to be another corporate consultancy overcharging and under-delivering, and leaving clients ill-prepared for the future. They felt a change was needed in the way a consultancy collaborated and delivered the results.

Thought Provoking Consulting was born.

Keith and Subir have  a combined 40 years of experience and backgrounds in retail planning, pricing, merchandising, supply chain management, PLM and Global Sourcing Solutions. It was this breadth  and scope of experience that set the group up for success, added with a desire for change and a combined goal they started building their team.

TPC’s home base is the U.K and their team has grown to include a diverse mix of over 30 consultants from retail veterans to former partners in large consultancy firms. Each consultant brings extensive knowledge in their field, both process and technical, with a grounding in what works in the real world. The goal is to understand the key strategic and operational challenges retailers face both today and in the future.

Subir remembers TPCs first client, John Lewis in 2013. “ This was a great business transformation opportunity for TPC and a chance to help a great company.” Still a young consultancy at that time they have since had the opportunity to work with many of the large retailers such as Shop Direct, Tommy Hilfiger, Arcadia, Burberry, Littlewoods, Macys, and many more. When asked who they would most like to work with the partners laugh and reel off a long list, but when pressed to choose Keith suggests Primark, “because they are not only successful with a great value clothing brand but they have a formula and stick to it. It continues to work well for them.”

TPC are breaking into the US market and are currently working with Patagonia, Carters and Lululemon. They are focusing on 3D Digital transformation with a goal to bring the apparel sector up to date with other industries and to revolutionize the apparel process.
